Industrial sewing machine operators manufacture garments and textile articles by manually handling fabrics under the machine head. Although AI-controlled sewing automatons exist for straight and simple seams, complex garment assembly requires human manual dexterity and physical coordination. The agility to position irregular fabric pieces and visual supervision of the stitch maintain the need for human seamstresses in the factory.
